2011 Evans Pinot Noir
Note from the winemaker, Matt Evans:
We thought we had sold out of this 2011 Pinot Noir a few years ago, but we just found 17 bottles of it that we can offer for one last sale. 2011 was a very cool year for Anderson Valley, with minimal summer heat, and some rain during harvest. As a result, this 2011 Pinot Noir shows great delicacy, with aromas of strawberries, blueberries, dried flowers, and cinnamon that segue into savory hints on the palate, amidst velvety tannins. "Heritage" refers to the legacy Pinot Noir clones planted at Donnelly Creek vineyard that went into this wine. In 2014 a group of sommeliers with Wine & Spirits magazine chose it as one of their two favorite Anderson Valley Pinot Noirs and declared it to be the most "burgundian" of our wines. I think it has only improved since then. Sorry but we only have these few bottles left.
Please note: this is a natural wine that has not been filtered, so it will develop sediment in the bottle. I highly recommend decanting it for maximum enjoyment.
